mission overview

THIS MISSION IS YOUR OPPORTUNITY TO DESIGN, MAKE AND PAINT A BESPOKE SKATEBOARD DECK TO YOUR OWN SPECIFICATIONS.

In just 4 days you will prove that, with the right tools and instructions, you can create a truly incredible product from scratch: namely your very own skateboard! Working in a small team with an expert maker, you'll design and build a fully functional skateboard all the way from conception through to prototype and finished product. First you'll have to build a skateboard press. Then, you'll design, shape, cut and press the deck using plywood sheets. Once the deck is ready, you'll paint it and add graphics to customise your board. To finish off, you'll fix trucks and wheels. Ready for a road test!

THIS MISSION IS PERFECT FOR TEENS LOOKING TO DEVELOP THEIR STEM SKILLS OR SIMPLY TO LEARN DESIGN AND MAKING TECHNIQUES THAT ARE USEFUL AND FUN.
