In this thrilling journey around the world, we’re going to go to the ends of the earth and back in a week. Hold on tight! From the Amazon to the Arctic, the Mediterranean to Madagascar and Borneo, you’re going to explore the wildlife, culture, art and food of these exciting but fragile places!
WATER BEATS EARTH. EARTH BEATS FIRE. FIRE BEATS AIR. AND AIR BEATS WATER.
Are you ready to take on The Elements? On this daring mission, you’re going to play with fire, tame the wind, conquer ice and wrestle with the Earth! On this mission, you’re going to learn how to sculpt ice, you’ll create kinetic floating installations, you’ll carve wood, you’ll learn about clay techniques, you’ll make flammable sculptures and even have a go at metal work!
DEEP IN THE ENCHANTED FOREST, A GROUP OF ACTORS ARE REHEARSING…
Unbeknown to them, Puck, the mischievous sprite, is eavesdropping. Thinking that Bottom is one of the worst actors he’s ever had the misfortune to listen to, Puck decides to play a trick on him and turn his head into that of a donkey! This sparks a hilarious sequence of events where the Queen of the Fairies falls in love with Bottom (donkey’s head and all!) and Puck keeps making mischief with a love potion. What is going on?
WHAT IF YOU COULD CREATE YOUR OWN MINIATURE WORLD? WHAT CREATURES WOULD INHABIT IT? WHAT ADVENTURES WOULD THEY GO ON?
This mission is magical: it reveals the secret of enchanted miniature gardens and how they come to life! Will you create a fairy garden? A jungle full of creepy crawlies? A seaside sanctuary for mermaids? First you'll get planting and building. Once your miniature gardens are ready, you’ll create exciting characters with plasticine. Working with a stop-motion animator, you’ll learn how to film and edit your adventures for a great movie to take home!
BANKSY GOES GREEN… Mission Gaia is a unique ‘Street Art Meets Nature’ workshop. Setting up your own Studio Collective, you'll have only one week to plan and create a unique and exciting life-size Art Trail in the grounds of Eltham College. You'll get to practice lots of experimental techniques such as moss graffiti, pigment making, rock balancing, slogan art, urban stencilling, clay block printing, natural installations and collages.
YOUR CHANCE TO BE THE NEXT STEVE BACKSHALL! Project Spyglass could be just your chance! Hedgehogs, foxes, beetles, spiders, woodlice, robins, even parakeets. Working in teams against the clock, you'll produce your very own wildlife film. You'll learn all about recces, framing techniques, set design, light tricks and amazing sound effects. Nothing is ever quite what it seems in nature...
