BEHIND THE SCENES… IN 2017, THE HIVE’S OPEN-AIR THEATRE WILL PRODUCE ITS FIRST PLAY: PUCK’S PRANK. AND WE NEED YOU!

A really important part of a live performance happens behind the scenes, both before and during the production. There is a set to design and construct, a stage to build, scenery to create, props to research and make, costumes to sketch, cut and sew, fittings to organise, masks to produce, make-up to apply, sounds to find, lights to operate, background videos to shoot, music to compose, special effects to test and production meetings to attend! This is how make-believe happens:)

On this mission, you will join the Puck’s Prank Production Team. You’ll have to think on your feet, be one of the team, keep your wits about you and be ready at the drop of a hat! Working with your Artistic Director, you will be responsible for bringing the magic to life. Do you know your hacksaw from your jigsaw? Can you handle a needle and thread? Do you love drawing? Making music? Are you a tech wizard? Then we want to hear from you!

This mission will culminate with an exciting matinee performance of Puck’s Prank on the last day in front of a select parent audience.

A FAST PACED AND EXCITING HANDS-ON INTRODUCTION TO THE HUGE RANGE OF THEATRE TRADES AND SKILLS – ALL IN THE OUTDOORS!

Parents: this mission will run at the same time as ‘Puck's Prank’, where children will work on the performance of the play. Each mission is distinct but they will interact at set times throughout the week and will work together on the final 30 minute production.
