A MISSION FOR EXPLORERS AND ADVENTURE SEEKERS! IN THIS THRILLING JOURNEY AROUND THE WORLD, WE’RE GOING TO GO TO THE ENDS OF THE EARTH AND BACK IN A WEEK. HOLD ON TIGHT!

From the Amazon to the Antarctic, the Mediterranean to Madagascar and Borneo, you’re going to explore the wildlife, culture, art and food of these exciting but fragile places!

First you’ll meet Alex. She’s a journalist and ecologist who spends her life on the road researching the most endangered places in the world. She has a bit of a problem at the moment though… She’s filming a video diary of her travels for National Geographic and her producer has asked for exciting facts, creations and artefacts on the wildlife, culture and art of all the places she visits.

Yikes! She has no idea how to do this… This is where you come in:)

To help Alex, you’ll have to learn how to build an Inuksuk the Innuit way, you’ll discover the art of Carnival and mask making in Peru, you’ll encounter the “old men of the forest” in Borneo, you’ll find out why you need to keep a very close eye on the vanilla orchids of Madagascar, you’ll have a go at making your own mosaics like a true Turk, and more… As you make your way around the globe, you’ll also have a go at cooking and tasting the scrumptious foods you’ll discover such as brigadeiro, klepon, bannock and koulourakia! Do you know what they are?

The journey will culminate with an invitation to discover and sample the children’ creations, followed by a fun family quiz. Parents, be prepared!

AN ARTS-BASED INTRODUCTION TO BIODIVERSITY WITH STRONG ELEMENTS OF INVESTIGATION, MAKING AND SHARING, ENHANCED BY ROUND-THE-WORLD COOKING.
